Welcome to PBHI

Powered by Health Initiative (PBHI) is a Pan-African public health organization dedicated to improving health outcomes, service quality, and health systems resilience through community-centered interventions and institutional strengthening. We partner with health facilities, governments, companies, and communities to translate investments in health into measurable, durable improvements in access, equity, and quality of care.

Community Health Programmes

We design and implement community health interventions with communities and partners that reflect the realities, capacities, and priorities of the communities we serve.

Health Systems Strengthening & Digital Health

We support health facilities and systems to improve governance, service delivery, data, and use of technology, from workflow redesign to electronic health records, telemedicine, and supply‑chain improvement.

Training & Capacity Building

We design advanced, practice‑oriented training, boot camps, and fellowships that equip health workers, managers, and emerging leaders with the skills to lead change in their own institutions and communities.

Partnering for Transformative Change in Health Service

We design and deliver customized, clinically validated interventions that strengthen service delivery platforms, optimize clinical and operational workflows, and enhance population‑level health outcomes for diverse partners across Africa. Whether your goal is to fortify health system resilience, build workforce and leadership capacity, or scale transformative community and public health programs, we offer a service line calibrated to your needs.

5.7–8.4 million people die each year in low- and middle-income countries because of poor-quality health care, representing up to 15% of all deaths in these settings.

In Africa, 60% of deaths that could be prevented through the health sector are tied directly to the performance and resilience of health care systems and how they are designed, staffed, equipped, managed, and governed.

Global modelling for achieving health-related Sustainable Development Goals estimates that building stronger, safer, more resilient health systems in low- and middle-income countries would require additional investments rising to about 58 US dollars per person per year by 2030

Why Choose Us

We bring community health programmes, health systems strengthening, and workforce development under one roof, so partners work with a single, coherent technical team instead of managing fragmented implementers.

We operate across multiple African countries with teams that understand national health systems, regulations, and community realities, allowing us to design solutions that are both scalable and context‑specific.

We emphasise governance, service organisation, digital health, data quality, and continuous quality improvement to help institutions deliver safer, more efficient, and more equitable care at scale.

We work with clear service standards, defined indicators, and structured monitoring and evaluation so partners receive transparent evidence of impact and responsible use of resources.

We invest in advanced training, coaching, and fellowships that strengthen the technical and leadership capabilities of our partners, ensuring that improvements are owned, institutionalised, and continuously enhanced over time.

We can act as technical advisor, implementation partner, or lead delivery agency, aligning our role with your strategy, resources, and priorities; whether corporate CSR, donor programming, government reform, or community health initiatives.

Testimonials

Here’s what our partners and participants say about us.

The PBHI virtual fellowship gave me tools I use every day: systems thinking, quality improvement methods, and leadership skills. I returned to my hospital and led a redesign of our patient flow process. It changed my career.

Dr. Zainab Mohamed, Sudan

"PBHI helped us transform our facility's operations. Within six months, our patient satisfaction improved, our data quality strengthened, and our staff felt more confident and supported. The systems they helped us build are still working today."

Dr. Amara Okafor, Hospital Director, LHC Nigeria

As a CSR lead, I needed a partner that understood both business accountability and community realities. PBHI designed and delivered a maternal health program that our beneficiaries trust and our board is proud of.

James Mensah, CSR Manager

In 2025, I participated in the webinar series for communication skills as a health professional; the session was led by Dr. Helen. That training elevated my professional and personal relationship. Thank you PBHI
